14 booked for settling down rape case through jirga

KANDHKOT: Kashmore-Kandhkot police registered a case against Sardar Dr SamiullahSoomro and 14 others for settling agang-rape case through a Jirga.

On the directives of SSP Kashmore-Kandhkot, police registered an FIR against Sardar Taj Muhammad Domki, the father of gang-rape victim Urz Mohammad Golo and 13 others on the behalf of the state for settling the matter in a Jirga in Kandhkot on Monday.

Kandhkot police after registering the FIR against the feudal lord and the senior politician Sardar Taj Mohammad Domki, have arrested him. According to SHO C-section police station, Mohammad Sadiq Odho confirmed the arrest of Sardar Taj Muhammad Domki and told Daily Times that raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. He further informed that FIR No 89/2017 had been registered under sections of 310, 419, 117 and 143 of Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of ASI Mohammad Murad Lashari.

Sardar Domki on Sunday addressing the press conference at his residence had announced the settlement of a gang-rape case of a 12 year old house maid. Sardar Domki during his press conference had claimed that had he not settled the matter the rape victim would not have got justice despite the fact Chief Justice of Pakistan had taken notice of the incident.

Sardar Domki had fined Rs 1.8 million and claimed that the maid was drugged and raped by one of MohzabSohariani while six others were declared innocent. “I am ready to produce myself in front of the Supreme Court if I have done any wrong to avoid the bloodshed between two communities by settling the matter” Sardar Domki went on to say during his press conference.
