Balochistan govt provides free stents to 462 heart patients: minister

QUETTA – Balochistan Minister for Health Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch said on Tuesday that 462 patients of cardiovascular diseases were provided with free stents by the provincial government.

The minister said that a patient of cardiovascular diseases had to normally bear Rs 1.5 million on his medical treatment. In order to facilitate people, the provincial health department purchased 500 stents used in medical operations and provided them to 462 patients, free of cost, he added.

He said that from June 2013 onward, 4,092 patients had been provided with angiography facility and over 997 angioplasty facilities by the government.
