Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court on Monday reserved the judgement on a petition challenging appointment of Shoaib Bin Aziz as the press secretary to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif.

Petitioner advocate Sheraz Zaka alleged that Shoaib Aziz had been found guilty in an inquiry conducted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment regarding bogus payments made to an advertising agency while functioning as the director general of the Public Relations Department. He contended that criminal proceedings were pending against Shoaib for the last three years. He submitted that Shoaib Aziz was a retired government officer and he could not be appointed the press secretary. He requested the court to restrain Shoaib Aziz from working as the CM’s press secretary.
