KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed the need to resolve the issue of peasants of Okara farms amicably and avoid using force to make them “landless”. In a press statement, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he has taken the issue seriously as the PPP and its leadership has always fought against the injustices and atrocities committed against labour and peasant class, and would continue to side by them for their genuine rights. Bilawal said that agriculture is the only source of livelihood of these peasants, and it will be difficult for them to make both ends meet if their rights are usurped. He said the PML-N government had not provided access to international markets for local produced agro-commodities. He said that his party would oppose the “use of force” to make these peasants landless. He asked the government to assure the rights of peasants and resolve the issue amicably.
