ISLAMABAD: National Testing Service (NTS) has failed to announce results of Punjab School Education Department (PSED). The applications were taken before February 15 and test was conducted on 18th, 19th and 20th March this year for the posts of teachers of different subjects including the posts of assistant education officers.

About 600,000 students applied for the different posts according to their subjects and most of the applicants applied for two or more posts according to their qualification. Rs 475 was charged for each application .In this context, NTS has collected more than Rs 285000000 from applicants. 27 days have been passed but NTS still failed to announce official results of 33662 posts of the said vacancies. Punjab Education Department gave an advertisement in various newspapers in which it sought that those applicants who passed respective tests must submit their results along with form to Punjab Education Department on April 14 .The question is how applicants can submit results to Punjab Education Department as they have not got the results yet from National Testing Service.

Different applicants told Daily Times that they appeared in the written tests for BS-14, and BS-16 and passed both the exams as per answer sheet and answer keys provided by NTS. When they visited Punjab Education Department after seeing the said advertisement along with answer key sheet result and tried to submit documents for further procedure, education department officer refused to collect documents because the result is not announced officially by NTS. Moreover, they told that NTS always produces Punjab government’s desired results and in this way NTS is taking too much time to announce results from last three years.

Prior to this, thousands of students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) could not participate in exams after submitting the fees because students received the enrollment letters released by NTS after the test date.

National Assembly and Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat convened various meetings with reference to NTS testing procedures and informed the government that NTS is converting into a business institution and it should be shut down.

Daily Times tried to contact NTS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haroon Rashid several times to obtain his stance but no reply was given from his side.
