CTO calls for implementation of safety laws

RAWALPINDI: Chief Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz on Sunday directed the city traffic police to ensure implementation of traffic laws as well as road safety regulations so that flow of traffic could be maintained on city roads.  The CTO directed that traffic police inspectors must stay alert at rush points while beat in-charges need to take strict action against wrong parking. He said that DSPs must take action against encroachments on the roads so that smooth flow of traffic could be ensured. He said that motorists involved in illegal parking, reckless driving, over-speeding, underage driving, use of tinted glasses, applied-for vehicles and number plates with non-approved designs must be dealt with in accordance with law. He directed that strict action must be taken against public service vehicles involved in over-charging.  The CTO said that city traffic police is taking active steps to ensure safety of life of the motorists as well as smooth flow of traffic in Rawalpindi district. He called upon the citizens to cooperate with the traffic police so that smooth flow of traffic could be ensured and loss of lives in traffic accidents could be avoided.
