ISLAMABAD: A four-day anti-polio campaign kicked off in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Frontier regions on Monday. The campaign is being carried out in most affected areas of Khyber, North and South Waziristan agencies. About 10,00,000 children up to the age of five years will be administered anti-polio drops. Tight security arrangements have been made for the polio vaccination teams. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has expressed satisfaction over the last five campaigns and directed to continue with the same spirit for achieving 100 percent result. He also decided to give awards to the officers, supervisors and field staff on better performance. Meanwhile, a three-day polio eradication campaign has begun in Karachi as well. Commissioner Karachi Syed Asif Haider Shah inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to the children. 2.4 million children up to the age of five years will be administered polio drops during the anti-polio campaign.
