ISLAMABAD: The doctors in London, after a through medical check-up, have allowed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to travel and, according to sources, he is scheduled to leave London for Pakistan on Tuesday (today). Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in London some five days back for his medical check-up on the advice of doctors at the Sharif Medical Complex in Lahore. Doctors had found one of his arteries ‘blocked’. Sources close to Sharif family have confirmed that the prime minister is flying back on Tuesday (today) and may reach country on Wednesday. The prime minister’s staff has got his ticket confirmed to travel back to Pakistan. According to another report, the prime minister may depart for homeland on Wednesday (tomorrow). The spokesman of PM’s House has confirmed that the prime minister will land in Lahore. A team of specialist doctors kept Nawaz Sharif under observation for four days at a hospital in London. Amid his medical treatment, however, he was seen shopping at an upmarket store on Saturday. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not only went through a series of medical tests for heart ailment during his stay in London but also availed this opportunity to secretly meet his ‘political physician’ Asif Ali Zardari. Sources told this scribe that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari at the hotel where Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan was staying in. According to reports, Asif Zardari shifted to London’s Churchill Hotel a few days back. It’s the same hotel where PM Nawaz met with Ch Nisar, raising many an eyebrow as to what prompted an ‘ailing’ prime minister to set aside even protocol and personally drive to ‘call on’ his cabinet minister. Though sources close to former president Asif Zardari denied any such meeting, in what is being called an aftereffect, the PPP has shown its willingness to accept an inquiry commission under a retired judge to probe the Panama leaks. Sources said PM Nawaz Sharif approved the name of Ch Nisar for the interim prime minister in case of any in-house change. In the meeting, Zardari also agreed to his name but on the condition that Ch Nisar will has to meet him prior to the oath taking to listen to PPP’s apprehensions, considering Ch Nisar keeps a harsh stance especially towards the PPP.
