ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Daniyal Aziz who is administrator of Gun and Country Club (GCC) and Secretary Athar Bhatti have refused to reinstate club’s Supervisor Malik Safeer despite court’s orders.

Malik Safeer has told Daily Times that he was sacked due to personal grudge of both administrator and secretary of GCC while NIRC member Judge Ghulam Nabi ordered GCC to not only reinstate him but also to make payment of outstanding dues to him.

He said that the GCC management challenged this order before three judges and these judges also gave decision in his favour adding that the court’s orders were announced three months before but Daniyal Aziz and Athar Bhatti are not reinstating him. He further said, “They both while ridiculing me have expressed remarks sarcastically that “They may appoint me as gardener. Now no option is left before me other than filing contempt of court case against the administration of GCC. This is sheer injustice with me that Daniyal Aziz is favouring staff members of NGO being run by his wife and on the other hand he has rendered me jobless”.

Daniyal Aziz not only appointed staff members of his wife’s NGO in GCC but also increased the salary of club Secretary Athar Bhatti to Rs 200,000 per month.

Further investigation revealed to Daily Times that the Cook Noor Muhammad Bengali who earlier was performing duty in the kitchen at personal residence of Daniyal Aziz as his private cook was employed in GCC against monthly salary of Rs 30,000. Maintenance In charge Sohail who is under matric and was earlier serving as electrician in the NGO of wife of Daniyal Aziz has been appointed in GCC against monthly pay of Rs 35,000.

Safeer said that this is tyrannical that the employees who are serving in GCC since the last eight to 10 years are still receiving salary ranging between Rs 9,000 to 10,000 per month while new staff has been appointed in the restaurant against monthly salary ranging between Rs 12,000 to 17,000 and it is encroachment on the rights of old employees.

Secretary Athar Bhatti has created a new post unduly and has appointed a lady as manager duty in charge in health studio despite the fact that rules and regulations do not allow such post as one assistant manager is already working in the health studio.

Administrator Daniyal Aziz is so kind upon GCC secretary that a vehicle worth of Rs 18,00,000 has been provided to him for the first time in the history of club and he has been allowed Rs 20,000 per month on account of petroleum charges as well. This vehicle remains under the use of family members of the GCC secretary. The guests of the secretary are allegedly served meal on daily basis from GCC. They also enjoy high tea and brunch at every weekend free of cost as bill is being paid by GCC on this count.

The employees of GCC have complained repeatedly that the secretary Athar Bhatti misbehaves with them and treat them inhumanly. Some women employees of the club had approached Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Ministry earlier for their grievances due to which they are now facing the wrath of secretary and administration of the club. Certain applications were also received on sexual harassment of ladies in GCC. On intervention from the CADD Ministry, Daniyal Aziz had to conduct an inquiry but he disposed of the application without meeting the ends of justice.
