ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Thursday met his arch political rival Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The Panama leaks issue has brought opposition parties closer, including the PPP and the Awami Muslim League (AML). Talking to a private news channel after his meeting with Zardari, Ahmed said the PPP chairman wanted to see all opposition parties on one page against corruption. He said that formation of a parliamentary committee on Panama leaks was not his priority. Ahmed said that Army Chief Raheel Sharif’s gesture had been praised worldwide. He said that he convinced Zardari that the PPP must stand by the nation against corruption. He said that a commission headed by the chief justice should be formed to look into the Panama leaks.
