ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has asked the interested people to submit their applications for participating in the annual Urs of Hazrat Majadid Alif Sani.
According to an official, the annual Urs is scheduled to be held in Sirhind Sharif in India from November 24 to December 1 this year.
May 5th has been fixed as the last date for submission of the applications, giving ample time for security clearance and completing other formalities. The applicants must attach a non-refundable bank draft of Rs 1,000 along with the application.
As many as 200 selected Pakistani pilgrims would be allowed to attend the Urs and if the number of applications exceeded the required quota and a draw would be held on May 23rd for choosing the successful applicants.
The fee can also be deposited online in account number 18499-3 of the Religious Affairs Ministry, National Bank of Pakistan, main branch in Civic Centre (0341), Islamabad. The original payment receipt must be attached with the application, photocopy would not be accepted.
The application forms can be downloaded from the website of the ministry www.hajjinfo.org or www.mora.gov.pk. Each successful applicant would be informed within a period of month after the balloting process.
The original passport and traveling documents are required to be submitted three months prior to the departure. Indian embassy does not accept the passports to stamp visa, if their expiry date is less than eight months from the Urs. Such applicants must renew their passports at the earliest to avoid rejection of the visa.
Indian embassy accepts visa applications online www.India.org.pk. The applicants should fill the forms online and send it to the ministry.
