Commander among four ‘TTP terrorists’ killed in Karachi

KARACHI: Four suspected terrorists belonging to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, including their commander Munshi, were killed in an encounter with police at the Super Highway in Malir area here on Thursday. According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, on the intelligence information about presence of suspected terrorists in the area, police carried out raid at a house where exchange of fire took place between police and terrorists, killing four terrorists.

Police also seized weapons and explosives from possession of the killed terrorists. Separately, the law enforcement agencies (LEA) have adopted a multi-pronged strategy to dig out the particular terrorist gang that killed seven cops in Orangi Town on Wednesday. The investigation initiated to trace the terrorists and locate their exact hideout and local facilitators has already been launched.

The investigators believe banned Tehreek-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lashkar-e Jhangvi (LeJ) and a political party activists might be involved in the brutal killings. The CTD, Garden Headquarters, has registered an FIR on the killing of cops in Orangi Town on behalf of Pakistan Bazaar Police Station SHO. Police has so far taken seven people including a woman in custody on suspicion of involvement in the killings.
