ECP reviews arrangements for next general elections

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Planning Committee of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) under the chairmanship of its secretary was held on Friday to look into the arrangements for next general elections, 2018.

A detail insight was given to all the perspectives of the pre-poll arrangements for 2018 general elections, said a press release.

The committees deliberate in detail the appointment of the polling staff, printing of the error-free electoral rolls, training of the polling staff, establishment of the polling stations and overall monitoring. The committee also discussed at length the programme to be adopted for the proper training of the polling staff. The sectary told the participants that the entire energies should be utilised to organise and conduct, free, fair, impartial, credible and transparent elections in 2018.

He stressed the need to adopt flawless strategies in order to reach at the national goal of credible elections in accordance with law. The meeting was attended by all the senior officers of ECP and all the provincial election commissioners.
