ISLAMABAD: Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua met Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali on Thursday to discuss the case of condemned Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

The meeting was held in the Supreme Court premises in Islamabad, and was attended by South Asia and SAARC Director General Dr Mohammad Faisal and senior intelligence officials.

The meeting finalised a strategy to appoint an ad hoc judge in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and fight the case in a better way.

Jadhav was detained on March 3, 2016, in Balochistan soon after which the military released a confessional video of the spy in which he confessed to working for destabilising Pakistan with focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

India recently took the issue to the ICJ seeking provisional stay to his execution. The Indian spy was sentenced to death after a trial in a military court. However, the ICJ halted the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent’s execution until further orders.
