Security beefed up for PTI’s public gathering in metropolis

ISLAMABAD: The capital administration and security agencies have completed all the arrangements on 20th “Foundation Day” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and provided information to the general public in this regard.

The directives have been issued for parking vehicles in PRC Chowk, Ibne Sina Road green belt by those coming from Lahore GT Road and other cities whereas those coming from Murree have been directed to reach Peshawar Morr 9th Avenue via Kashmir Chowk, Murree Road, Rawal Dam, Faizabad, Faisal Avenue and Zero Point. Those coming from Peshawar Motorway would park their vehicles in front of Mehran Gate on Ibne Sina Road. Both the sides from sector F10 round about to Jinnah Avenue and sector F8 exchange road will be kept closed.

The security has been stepped up in F9 Park and the localities around it. The search operation has been conducted in different parts of the park. The security personnel have been deployed in all suspected areas of the park.

All the avenues leading to Red Zone have been blocked with containers and access has been given to Red Zone through Margalla Road only. The additional strength of security personnel has been deployed in Red Zone. Rangers and other security agencies have increased their patrolling. Joint search operations are being conducted by security agencies in Gokina Village and other nearby areas. This search operation was carried out under DSR Israr Ahmad of 19th Wing Rangers PNR Headquarters and SHO Kohsar. As many as 40 Rangers personnel and 30 federal police personnel took part in the search operation. Several suspects were arrested along with illegal arms and were handed over to Kohsar police. The holidays of staff members of police stations, hospitals and other important departments have been cancelled and they have been placed on high alert.

About 6,000 security personnel have been deployed around F9 Park and they have been equipped with tear gas, arms and other necessary equipments.

A code of ethics has been reached in writing between administration and PTI and according to this code of ethics, if anyone loss to life is caused due to police action in the event of violation of code of ethics then the responsibility in this regard will rest with PTI. The PTI will have to terminate its public meeting at 10 pm and vacate the venue of public meeting by 11 pm. The PTI central leader Asad Omar has signed the code of ethics.
