ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) Patron-in-chief Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani on Sunday demanded to establish special task force for the protection of minorities.
While talking to a local delegation of minorities, Dr Ramesh Vankwani criticised provincial governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the protection of minorities. The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees minorities’ rights protection while Founder of the Nation Quad-e-Azam had also announced to provide religious freedom living in the newly born Muslim state, said a press release. The delegation expressed extreme concerns over the rising incidents of violence against the minorities. Dr Ramesh Vankwani paid great tribute to late Sardar Soran Singh, declaring him as “Martyr of Pakistan”.
He said that late Singh was a truly patriot citizen of the country. During the hearing in Supreme Court for the protection of minorities’ rights, most issues were highlighted in Sindh and Balochistan but it is highly regrettable that both the provincial governments are not interested to implement the detailed ruling of Supreme Court on June 19, 2014 for providing security to the minorities.
