Man killed, three injured

ISLAMABAD: A man was killed and his brother injured by robbers within Bara Kahu police limits.

Ali Raza and Kaleem Raza, residents of Bara Kahu, were returning back to home after withdrawing cash from a local bank, when two armed motorcyclists intercepted them. Both the brothers resisted them. However, the robbers opened fire on them, injuring both the persons. The injured were shifted to Polyclinic Hospital, where doctors declared Kaleem dead on arrival. According to doctors, the victim had sustained a bullet in his stomach, which proved fatal. The funeral of the deceased was held in the Sailkhater area near Bara Kahu.

On a separate note, an army officer was injured by robbers on Haider Road within the Cantt police jurisdiction in Rawalpindi. An army captain Farman was intercepted outside a bank by three robbers and when he resisted them, they opened fire on him and injured him.

He was shifted to a hospital for treatment. The robbers fled the scene. Police registered separate cases and started investigation.
