‘Endeavours of Soran Singh for interfaith harmony commendable’

ISLAMABAD: The representatives of different religions and religious schools of thoughts lamented that the indifferent attitude on part of religious and political leadership on killing of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) special assistant to chief minister on minorities and religious affairs Sardar Soran Singh is regrettable.

They said that the killing of Sardar Soran Singh deprived Pakistan from a great son of this soil and also demanded of the government to announce ‘Tamgh-e-Imtiaz’ for Sardar Soran Singh.

Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muahmmad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi chaired a joint meeting held on Mondaya in a hotel of the federal capital and was attended by leading representatives of different religions and religious sects of the country.

While paying homage to the services of Sardar Soran Singh, Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muahammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi highlighted endeavors of Sardar Soran Singh for interfaith harmony and for the elimination of terrorism from the country.

Tahir Ashrafi questioned that if any Muslim leader among leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was brazenly killed, will PTI leadership keep going jubilations relating their foundation day.

Tahir Ashrafi said that it is regrettable that leadership of PTI did not attended the funeral ceremony of Sardar Soran Singh and failed to be loyal with a party worker and leader over his brazen killing.

A Christian leader and Pakistan Interfaith Organisation President Sajid Ishaq speaking at the joint conference said that Sardar Soran Singh always raised voiced for the cause of victims irrespective of their faiths. He said that Sardar Soran Singh was a brave son of this soil and struggle of Sardar Soran Singh for the cause of interfaith harmony will be continued.

While addressing the conference Bishop Mazhar Ishaq said that it is ray of hope for non-Muslims living in Pakistan that people from different schools of thought and religions get united at this forum under one roof against killing of Sardar Soran Singh.

Pakistan Ulema Council Islamabad President Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri while speaking at the occasion said that the services of Sardar Suran Singh will be remembered forever adding that Pakistanis are protector for their non-Muslim Pakistani brothers.

While addressing on this occasion, civil society representative Samina Imtiaz said that Sardar Soran Singh sacrificed his family for the cause of Pakistan. She said that the assassination of Sardar Soran Singh is a great loss for Pakistan and soon a grand conference would be arranged in Peshawar to pay homage to the services of Sardar Suran Singh. She said that Sardar Suran Singh was the representative of Pakistan contrary to the thinking of a representative of minority group.
