LAHORE: Multi-faceted musician Ali Sethi will be live in concert at LACAS Mein Kuch Khaas on Friday.
The performance will be held at LACAS Gulberg Branch from 7:30pm onwards. The fun and festive night will be held under the banner of LACAS Mein Kuch Khaas. Sponsored by Sapphire and The One Lotus Agency as event patrons, the live performance will feature Ali Sethi’s original tracks and famous covers. With Radio1 FM 91 as the official radio partner for the event, tickets are available at Rs 1,000 through Road Runner and can be purchased from Gloria Jeans, BYOB, The Café Upstairs, The Last Word and Books & Beans.
Kuch Khaas is a not-for-profit organisation that works to cultivate and support arts and culture in Pakistan. It is the biggest non-government community and cultural centre of Pakistan. Since 2010, Kuch Khaas has served as a participative community space in the capital city of Islamabad and now in Lahore at LACAS, providing a platform for local artists and creative thinkers to build their skills, express their ideas and showcase their work.
Sethi is a Lahore-born writer and musician. A graduate of Harvard College, he is the author of the acclaimed debut novel The Wish Maker and a contributor to The New York Times op-ed page. Sethi is also a classically trained vocalist. He made his singing debut on Season 8 of ‘Coke Studio’ Pakistan and was featured on the soundtracks of Mira Nair’s ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ and Sarmad Khoosat’s ‘Manto’. His latest single “Mahi Mera” featuring folk artist Jamaldin was met with much acclaim. Presently Sethi is making a documentary film and working on his second book.
