Resign on moral grounds: Raja

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Former prime minister and senior PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday called upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to tender his resignation on moral grounds, as the Panama Papers have linked his family members to offshore companies. Addressing a press conference at the party secretariat in Model Town on Tuesday, Ashraf announced that they would reorganise and strengthen the party in Punjab. He urged the prime minister to present himself for accountability and said any Pakistani individual or political party had not linked the ruling family to offshore companies. He said that his party did not support the government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Panama leaks, but it did not agree with the politics of aggression of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
