LAYYAH – Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin said that a four-member medical board had been constituted to probe into toxic sweets incident.
Talking to journalists during his visit to mobile medical hospital at Chak 105/M-L here on Wednesday, he said that a high level inspection team was investigating the incident and culprits would be dealt with an iron hand. He said the Punjab government would continue monitoring till recovery of all patients of the incident.
He stated that 19 victims of toxic sweets were being treated at Jinnah Hospital Lahore. He said the Punjab government had established mobile medical hospital at the Chak where 273 patients had availed different kind of medical facilities during last two days.
Later, the minister gave away financial assistance cheques of Rs 5,00,000 each to heirs of two deceased of toxic sweets incident.
