ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized drugs comprising one kg heroin and 32 kg hashish, besides arresting 14 drug peddlers in countrywide operations.

The force also took into custody four vehicles which were being used by the drug peddlers. Since its anti-drug drive launched on April 13, the ANF has conducted 88 operations across the country recovering drugs wroth Rs 120 million, besides arresting 94 drug suppliers.

As per details, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug supplier and recovered 10 kg hashish from him. He was arrested near Tarnol Bus Stop, Islamabad while riding on a motorcycle. In another operation carried out near, Bara Kahu, Islamabad, the ANF recovered 650 gm hashish from a street drug peddler.

Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi, while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a vehicle near Tarki Toll Plaza, GT Road and arrested two passengers along with seizure of five kg hashish concealed in their luggage. In its fourth strike near Tarki Toll Plaza, GT Road, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a motorcycle and arrested two drug suppliers along with recovery of 1 kg heroin. The team also recovered 300 gm hashish from a local drug peddler, who was arrested at River View Road, Punyal Chowk, Gilgit.

Meanwhile, ANF Karachi team arrested a drug peddler namely Ahmed which led to the seizure of 830 gm hashish from him. He was arrested near Old Sabzi Mandi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. In second operation, ANF Karachi team arrested a drug peddler, Umer, and recovered two kg hashish. He was arrested near 1-D Bus Stop, Touri Bangash Chowki, Orangi Town, Karachi. The ANF team arrested another drug peddler, Saeedullah, during an operation near Chakar Khan Hotel, Super Highway, Karachi, and recovered 350 gm hashish from him.

In its fourth operation, ANF Karachi team recovered 2.1 kg hashish from an accused namely Niaz Khan, who was arrested near Dayan Hotel, Etehad Town, Orangi, Karachi. In fifth operation, ANF Karachi while striking near Bombai Hotel, Cantt Station, Karachi, arrested a drug supplier, Muhammad Ejas, along with recovery of 350 gm hashish. In sixth strike, ANF Karachi team recovered 800 gm hashish while arresting a local drug peddler namely Muhammad from Goth Mehmood Abad, Karachi.

Furthermore, ANF Peshawar intercepted a vehicle near Kacha Garhi, Jamrud Road, and recovered 9.6 kg hashish concealed in it. The drug supplier identified as Amin Jan was also apprehended during the operation.

All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigation is underway.
