ISLAMABAD :Pakistan Television Producer Hafiz Aneeq ur Rehman has inflicted massive loss of millions of rupees on the state run television network through misuse of powers besides affording benefit of millions of rupees to his own company Half Apple Communication (HAC) through official programs.

According to documents available with Daily Times Aniq ur Rehman is serving as producer in PTV since 2005 and he along with his partner Adeela Anwar got registered his company HAC on May 1, 2013 despite being a government employee of groups 6 in PTV. The company bears NTN No 4147278-7 and Sales Tax No 2600414727819.

Aneeq ur Rehman is providing services to different companies and institutions including PTV through HAC. He provides equipment of his own company on rent to PTV in connection with his programme and other programmes and charges heavy amount on account of rent.

The documents stated that Aniq received Rs 76,500 from PTV for his company HAC in connection with cultural show in Nigerian Embassy on November, 6, 2014. Likewise he obtained Rs 90,000 from PTV for his company on the eve of Golden Jubilee celebrations of PTV on December 24, 2014. He collected Rs 102,000 from PTV for organizing “Jeeway Pakistan” on April 16, 2015 and he received Rs 204,000 for second time regarding this programme.

Aniq ur Rehman provided SMD Screen on rent for another programme which took place on June, 4, 2015 and received a sum of Rs 166,500 from PTV. Payment of Rs 81,000 was made to HAC by PTV on June 22, 2015. This way he got overall payment of Rs 720,000 from PTV to his company HAC from July 01, 2014 to June 30, 2015. During the financial year 2015-16 several payments were made to HAC by PTV. Aniq purchased equipment from his company HAC in connection with his own programme “Qaumi Mushaira” in 2015 and got paid Rs 80,000 to his company from PTV. In another programme payment of Rs 90,000 was made to HAC in 2015. HAC also received Rs 80,000 from PTV for program “Music Mela”.

Several events and musical shows were awarded to Aniq for recording during the last 3 years. Aniq is being tipped as front man of Director Programmes Shakir Uzair who has introduced new trends of corruption in the PTV. Aniq utilized equipment and funds of PTV and recorded private shows and received heavy payments from PTV for his company HAC.

When contacted Hafiz Aniq ur Rehman told Daily Times HAC is not owned by him and he has nothing to do with it. Hiring services of private companies by PTV is a routine matter. A lobby in PTV is hatching conspiracy against him, he added. On the other hand it is evident from the documents available with Daily Times that Aniq ur Rehman is the owner.
