Panama leaks: opp has changed stance on JC

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said he had already taken the nation into confidence over his assets, however those pursuing the ‘politics of denial’ were responding negatively to this positive step.

“Despite his decision on setting up commission led by chief justice in accordance with the desire of all political parties, the opponents have changed their stance and are politicking with hollow slogans,” the prime minister said in his separate meetings with parliamentarians.

The prime minister said his government had record projects completed during his tenure and added that he did not believe in mere customary inaugurations.

The prime minister mentioned the inauguration of three gas projects a day earlier in areas including Abbottabad to Mansehra, Mansehra to Uggi and Mansehrato Shinkiari. He urged apon the parliamentarians to sincerely and dedicatedly serve the masses.

He said soon 10,000 MW electricity would be added to the national grid which would help overcome power shortage.
Nawaz Sharif said the country’s economy had attained stability with low inflation rate and high foreign exchange reserves.

The parliamentarians told the prime minister that people were supportive of his pro-development policies. They apprised the prime minister about progress of development work in their constituencies.
The members of parliament who met the prime minister here at the PM House included Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar (NA-134), Alam Dad Laleka (NA-189) and Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi (NA-184).

In a meeting with Minister of State for Communication Abdul Hakeem Baloch, who called on him here at the PM House, the prime minister said that the government’s vision of governance was based on transparency and efficiency and there would be no compromise on both these components.

The status of ongoing as well as future development projects across the country were discussed in detail during the meeting.
The prime minister was briefed that utmost transparency had been ensured while initiating the Motorway projects without compromising upon their implementation within the stipulated timeline.

These infrastructure development projects worth Rs 800 billion, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects would be completed during the next two to three years.

The prime minister said that the network of connectivity projects across the country would complement the regional connectivity initiative; speed up development process across the country; increase the economic growth of Pakistan and result in the generation of employment opportunities across the country.

The government’s development and reform agenda revolved around the progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan, said the prime minister. Talking to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on matters related to development of FATA here at the PM House, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said future of FATA would be decided as per the wishes and popular will of the people and no decision will be imposed on the tribesmen.

The prime minister said the government was very much alive to the needs for FATA reforms. While appreciating the spirit of patriotism of tribal people, the prime minister said tribal people had left their homes and native places for great national cause and their sacrifices would never go in vain. He said it was his vision that the people of FATA enjoy the same standard of living as enjoyed by the citizens of the rest of Pakistan.
