Sir: Dates are the specialty crop of Turbat. They define the cultural beauty of Turbat. However, dates of Turbat are being very much ignored presently.
Dates are the source of income for many farmers. Unfortunately, the unregulated market mechanisms compel the traders to sell these dates at a very low rate, which negates any possibility of earning a profit. Furthermore, there are no initiatives taken by the government, which can cater to improve the export quality of this crop.
Every year a large quantity of dates that could be used to generate revenue, get wasted due to the negligence of the government. Therefore, I would request the concerned authorities to try to provide facilities to the traders, and make factories for date export so that this crop can help generate revenue for the country.
