RAWALPINDI: Justice and Democratic Party chief Iftikhar Chaudhry has said demanded a probe into the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif assets both inside and outside the country.
While talking to media before leaving for Karachi at Islamabad Airport on Saturday, he said the initiatives should be taken to bring the “illegal wealth” of the prime minister back in the country. “There are enough evidences available in the Panama leaks for NAB and FIA to start the probe into the matter under their existing regulations, without seeking services of an international audit firm,” he said.
He said the terms of reference (ToRs) of the Panama leaks investigation should be approved from Senate. He claimed that the banks have admitted about the prime minister’s assets after it was revealed by the Panama leaks. To a question, he said that there has been no denial of the allegations levelled against the Sharif family in the Zafar Ali Shah case as yet.
