Govt allocates Rs 635bn for ADP

LAHORE: The Punjab government has allocated Rs 635 billion for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the fiscal year 2017-18.

Under the ADP 2017-18, Rs 15 billion have been allocated for Khadim-e-Punjab Kissan Package, Rs 15 billion for Prime Minister’s SDG Programme, Rs 3 billion for SME Credit Scheme, Rs 5 billion for Regional Development Programme, Rs 1 billion for western route of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC), Rs 50 billion for Safe City Project, Rs 5 billion for Education Scholarships, Rs 100 million for UNESCO’s Programme for Science, Education, Technology and Innovation, Rs 15 billion for public school infrastructure, Rs 2 billion for Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA), Rs 1 billion for development of model graveyards, Rs 9 billion for revamping of district headquarters (DHQs) hospitals.

Moreover, Rs 82.61 billion has been allocated for education sector, Rs 51.80 billion for health sector and Rs 57 billion for clean drinking water. Women development gets Rs 675 million, social welfare Rs 1.1 billion and Rs 7.9 billion have been earmarked for local governments. Out of Rs 172,164 billion allocated for infrastructure development, Rs 90 billion allocated for roads, Rs 9 billion for energy sector, Rs 41 billion for irrigation and Rs 16 billion allocated for urban development. A sum of Rs 51 billion has been allocated for production sector, which include Rs 21 billion for agriculture, Rs 15 billion for industries, Rs 1.5 billion for minerals and mines, Rs 9.5 billion for livestock and dairy development, Rs 70 million for cooperatives, Rs 2 billion for forestry, Rs 800 million for wildlife, Rs 850 million for fisheries, Rs 380 million for tourism and Rs 500 million for food.

For services sector Rs 103.3 billion has been allocated which include Rs 97 billion for transport and mass transit, Rs 3.5 billion for governance and IT, Rs 2.2 billion for emergency services and Rs 650 billion for Labour and HR Department. Similarly, Rs 17 billion were allocated for environment, information and culture, archaeology, auqaf and religious affairs, human rights, minority affairs and planning and development.
