After a lot of will she? won’t she?, actress and singer Priyanka Chopra finally decided to give some time to dine with the leader of the free world at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The White House Correspondents Association holds this annual dinner which began in 1920 and has become a tradition. The dinner is a scholarship benefit for gifted students in college journalism programmes in America.

At the dinner, the featured speaker roasts the president and his administration. This year the lovely task falls on comedian Larry Wilmore.

She posted a picture of her with the Obamas on Instagram today and wrote, “Lovely to meet the very funny and charming @barackobama and the beautiful @michelleobama. Thank you for a lovely evening. Cannot wait to start working on your girls education program”.

The ‘Baywatch’ star, brought her fashion A-Game to the red carpet in a black Zuhair Murad gown. The black dress had sheer stripes with nude liner running downwards. The black frills were interrupted by embellished sheer panels. The “Desi girl” kept the bling to a minimum and let her charming smile do the talking.

Priyanka Chopra has wrapped shooting for the first season of her American TV breakout series ‘Quantico’. She is now shooting with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Zac Efron and fellow ‘Nerd Prom’ attendee Kelly Rohrbach, for the movie reboot of iconic series ‘Baywatch’.

This was Barack Obama’s last WHCD as president of the United States. In his words, “Next year someone else will be standing in this very spot, it’s anyone’s guess who she will be.”

Chopra is an Indian actress, singer, producer and philanthropist, and the winner of the Miss World pageant of 2000. One of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses and most popular and high-profile celebrities, Chopra has been cited by various media outlets as the world’s sexiest Asian woman, as well as one of the most fashionable celebrities. She has received numerous awards, including a National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards, and was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, by the government of India in 2016. The same year, Time named her one of the “100 most influential people in the world”.

Although Chopra initially aspired to study engineering or psychiatry, she accepted offers to join the Indian film industry, which came as a result of her pageant wins, making her Hindi film debut in ‘The Hero’ in 2003. She later starred in the box-office hits ‘Andaaz’ and ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, and earned wide critical praise for her breakout role in the 2004 thriller ‘Aitraaz’. By 2006, Chopra had established herself as a leading actress of Indian cinema with leading roles in the highly successful films ‘Krrish’ and ‘Don’.
