Isfandyar wins Next Spring Summer Golf Tournament

LAHORE: Isfandyar Khan won the Next Spring Summer Golf Tournament, endorsed by NEXT – Team A Ventures, at the Lahore Gymkhana Club Golf Course here on Sunday. Young Isfandyar succeeded in showing his golfing skills and through exhibition of quality golf he stamped his name on the winner’s trophy. And during the 18 holes yesterday, many challengers like Sardar Murad, Usama Sheikh, Khawaja Jehanzaib did make a Herculean effort to curb the advance of Isfandyar but failed to make a dent big enough to stop him from making a successful dash to victory. Undoubtedly, Isfandyar played to perfection and his round of net 61, eleven under par, will be a memorable one for him. As for his nearest challengers, Usama Sheikh came second with a net score of 68 and Khawaja Jehanzaib picked up the third position with a score of net 69.

In the contest for gross honours, the top one was Sardar Murad with an impressive gross score of 74. He played superbly and was the man in command in the gross category. The second gross position went to Salman Jehangir and third gross was Waleed Zubair. The seniors champion was Javed A Khan and he put up an impressive display of golf. Shoaib Bokhari was the runner-up.

The chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony was Agha Ali Imam, acting chairman of Lahore Gymkhana, along with Aziz Munir of NEXT-Team A Ventures.

Fayyaz Ghani (2nd gross), Lateef Chaudhary (1st gross)

Veterans 70 to 80 years: Hamayun Rashid (2nd gross), Zafar Aziz (1st gross), Javed Hameed (2nd net), Farooq A.Khan (1st net).
