Short circuit leaves KC library to ashes

LAHORE: Valuables worth millions of rupees were gutted to ashes when fire broke out in the library of Kinnaird College on Monday due to short circuit.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out around 10am. However, no casualty or serious injury to anyone was reported.

The rescue and police teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident and safely rescued all students and staff members, a rescue official said. Besides other students and college staff, parents also rushed to the scene and inquired about the incident as well as monitored the rescue operation. The incident created panic among the students, teachers and parents.

According to rescuers, the fire broke out due to short circuit initially; however, the actual cause behind this incident could be cleared until detail investigation.
