Five security personnel injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA: Five personnel of Balochistan Constabulary have been injured in a bomb blast, which targeted their mobile van at Eastern bypass area on Tuesday. The police said that unidentified persons placed remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) in garbage heap on Sher Jan Bus Stop on Eastern bypass and detonated it when a mobile vehicle of Balochistan Constabulary was passing through the area. As a result, five personnel of the law enforcement agencies were injured. A senior police official said, “Five personnel of Balochistan Constabulary have received critical wounds in the IED blast”. The rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to hospital. The condition of some injured is serious. The wounded were identified as ASI Noor Muhammad, constables including Tariq, Liaquat, Shah Nawaz and Muhammad Ramazan. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the entire area to trace out the suspects. Further probe is underway.
