ISLAMABAD: The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) will hold the 47th National Athletics Championships (Men and Women) from May, 9 to 11 at Musa Stadium in Quetta. “The championship will be held with the cooperation of Balochistan Athletics Association,” said an AFP spokesman on Tuesday. More than 500 athletes from AFP’s affiliated units – Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Pakistan Navy, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Railways, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, FATA and Gilgit Baltistan – will vie for top honours in the three-day extravaganza. It is a mandatory annual event in which champion athletes display their prowess in the sports arena.
