The Paint Bucket is fundamentally an online gallery with live exhibitions happening once every two months. The gallery’s primary aim is to promote fresh upcoming young artists and the exciting new work that they are creating. The gallery aspires to provide emerging artists with a platform for their ambitious projects and to give them an opportunity to be recognised in the local as well as the international art community.

The Paint Bucket also believes in making art affordable accessible to all.

The Pakistani art scene is growing rapidly, and now its presence in the international arena is turning heads. More and more galleries, collectors and platforms are keen to acquire contemporary art from Pakistan. Keeping this in mind and seeing as there is hardly any opportunity for many young Pakistani artists to promote themselves on a virtual platform that is accessible to local as well as international audiences; The Paint Bucket gallery feels that they can help by bridging this gap in a big way.

Their latest venture was a live show; it was a one-day event held at The Paint Bucket Gallery in Lahore on Friday.

This time around, they had picked six of the strongest from this year’s National College of Arts (NCA) graduating batch to bring to art lovers Becoming.

“Becoming” was a celebration of these artists, most of whom had previously displayed with The Paint Bucket as students, transforming them into true visual artists.

Each artist displayed their own strengths in their own unique way. The display included paintings, installations, miniature and collages.

These artists had been tasked to play up on their strengths and put forward a collection that was eclectic and reflected their individual personalities.

The work was curated by Anum Lasharie.

Ahsan Javaid, Jahanzaib Akmal, Marjan Baniasadi, Anam Liaqat, Noormah Jamal and Maryam Baniasadi displayed their work.
