Sir: Many countries have already prohibited smoking in public places because of the grave dangers it poses to non-smokers. It not only damages their health against their will but also heightens their risk of suffering from lung diseases including cancer.
Pakistani government should also follow suit by reserving all public places for non-smokers exclusively. High prevalence of smoking in public spaces also encourages vulnerable groups like students to fall prey to this addiction. This is a crucial step needed to not only protect a large majority of non-smokers against the abuses of smoking but also discourage the practice among smokers. I hope that the concerned authorities pass legislation in this regard on an immediate basis so that we can save many from dangers of nicotine.
