KARACHI: Anti-corruption Court (ACC) on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani among 10 other accused in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) scandal case.
When ACC Judge Muhammad Azeem took up the case for hearing, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented seven new challans wherein 10 accused including Gilani were declared absconders.
The court while accepting the FIA challans issued non-bailable arrest warrants for all the accused and ordered the FIA to produce all accuses including former PM before it on May 19.
Gilani along with some former and serving officials of the TDAP, and some private individuals, had been accused of being involved in approving and disbursing fraudulent trade subsidies worth millions of rupees to several fake companies through fictitious claims and backdated cheques.
Besides Gilani, former deputy secretary to PM Secretariat Mohammad Zubair, Farhan Junejo, Faisal Siddique, Mehr Haroon Rasheed, Mian Tariq, Zafar Hussain, Noman Siddiqui, Syed Mohibullah Shah and others were also accused in the case.
