ISLAMABAD: After the undeclared reconciliation between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari, the formation of a judicial commission to probe Panama leaks appears to be delayed.

Ex-President Asif Zardari did not speak even one word against the prime minister who is tangled in difficulties nowadays. The government ministers are also quiet in replying to the
“friendly opposition” under a pre-planned scheme.

The political godfathers have once again fixed Imran Khan and his colleagues on the negotiation table and restored the confidence of the prime minster. The PPP is all set to vanish from the scene by leaving the PTI alone in the deep sea.

The confirmed political circles of Islamabad are of the opinion that Zardari has once again played the role of a shield for Nawaz Sharif. He not only prevented Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from holding midterm elections but also assured him every possible assistance to complete his constitutional tenure.

Well placed sources said that after the Panama leaks, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who always lost heart during hard times, was so much depressed and gloomy that even his real brother Shahbaz Sharif kept silent.

During the tour to London, where Nawaz Sharif went for treatment, he consulted Asif Ali Zardari on midterm elections but the PPP Chief convinced the premier if the midterm elections would be held, the reconciliation process would be damaged and ultimately the PTI would emerge victorious in the premature elections.

Actually the homework of the PPP was not completed for the election so Zardari encouraged Sharif not to announce midterm elections. During the secret meeting Zardari also assured the PM that PPP would make such terms of reference (ToR) for the judicial commission so that PML-N would get a chance to complete its tenure easily.

Under the Zardari formula, the meeting of opposition parties was held at the residence of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, in which the PPP-led opposition made the demand for the resignation of the prime minister to disappear. However later the ToRs were prepared on which a pre-planned fight started between the government and the opposition.

Now the PTI is not in the position to adopt a separation from the so called opposition alliance whereas if it remains stick with it, it may cause the strengthening of the government.

Dependable sources said that the second line of PPP’s leadership would part its ways from the PTI on receiving a green signal from Zardari. The leadership of the PPP is only waiting for the full re-establishment of Prime Minister’s confidence.

On the other hand the PML-N has prepared a “Plan-B” to sabotage the public rallies of the PTI. The confirmed sources told the Daily Times that Provincial Minister Rana SanaUllah was assigned the task to create mayhem in the PTI’s public rally at Faisalabad on May 8 like the Model Town tragedy and the debris of it would be thrown on Imran Khan by holding him responsible.

Imran Khan after smelling the rat had postponed the meeting. Now this political show of power of the PTI will be held on May 20.

The top leadership of the PTI wants to make a planned move to stop the hooligans of PML-N from causing turmoil at the meeting.
