ISLAMABAD: The panel of experts comprising 32 doctors at Pakistan Medical Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have completed the series of almost 250 clinical tests of two “solar kids” that are under treatment in the hospital and diagnosed the weakness of muscles.

After the diagnose of mysterious disease, PIMS administration has imported a vaccine for the treatment of these solar kids, who were suffering from the strange disease that both real brothers get activated with the sunrise but almost fainted out with the sunset. The injection imported from aboard would reach Islamabad today (Friday). Both the children Shoaib Ahmed 13 years and Abdul Rashid 9 are belonging to district Khuzdar of Baluchistan.

Earlier they were shifted to Lahore for treatment, where a team of 19 expert doctors performed their some 200 tests, then they were shifted to PIMS along with the panel of doctors. At PIMS a team of 13 medical experts with the assistance of previous medical team that came from Lahore with these ‘solar kids’ started their efforts to dig out the real cause of their odd syndrome.

They become active with the sunrise at dawn and they behave like common children in sun light, but on sunset they turn out to be faded. Their eyes begin to close as they loss their all the senses after the sunset and they have not any feeling of hunger or thirst. Their brain stops working after the sundown and even they have not any nous to go to bathrooms to attend the call of nature. It seems that somebody has put their battery off with the sunset.

The doctors after almost 450 tests at Lahore and Islamabad have reached the conclusion that both the children have weak muscles which are joint together.

Most surprisingly their one year brother Ilyas is also suffering from this odd sickness but their two sisters and one brother are absolutely normal. The Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Dr Javed Akram told Daily Times that the doctors have succeeded to locate the cause of the disease from which the two children are suffering.
