KHAIRPUR: Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Chairman Department of Teacher Education, Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur has been awarded a project under Social Integration Outreach Programme (SIOP) on ‘Women Entrepreneurial Development through Early Childhood Development’ by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad.
The project will empower educated females to open and run their own Early Childhood Development Centres to cater learning and development needs of children of age 3-5 years.
The project will enable capacities of educated unemployed female youths in entrepreneurial and Early Childhood Development pedagogical skills to open up centres in their respective community in district Khairpur.
Under this project, 15 educated females with minimum qualification Matric, age 18 to 30 will be selected after a well-designed selection process.
The selected females will be given training in entrepreneurial and ECD pedagogical skills. After training they will be ready to open ECD centres. Some faculty members will also be trained so that they can provide technical assistance to the entrepreneurs in ECD centres and monitor progress.
ECD kit will be provided to five outstanding entrepreneurs for their centers based on pre and post training evaluation.
The five successful entrepreneurs will also be provided with lesson plans based on National ECE Curriculum.
Prof Dr Parveen Shah, Vice-Chancellor, SALU congratulated Dr Mallah for winning 4th project in two-year time from HEC.
