People throng bookstores to get Goyana Karkhe

PESHAWAR: Highlighting the ups and downs in society, a special poetical collection of Pashto poetry named Goyana Karkhe (speaking lines), written by Amjad Ali Khadim, was launched, which attracted a large number of readers to bookstalls.

The book covers 43 deferent subjects including poems besides 24 modern Ghazals narrating about the deprivation of the poor children, violence and terrorism. Other aspects include poetry on laborers, a message to Pakhtuns, poetry on mother, poetry on beloved country, Poetry on noted writer Saadat Hasan Manto, poetry in the memory of Parishan Khattak, poetry in the memory of father, poetry in the memory of great Pashto poet Hamza Shinwari, Poetry on Shangla valley, poetry on Nathia Gali, poetry on Eid and Poor, poetry on peace, poetry on spring and a message to international community.

Renowned writers and intellectuals, including Department of Pashto Islamia College University, Chairman Prof Dr Abaseen Yousafzai, Director Pashto Academy Prof Dr Nasrullah Jan and Regional Director Radio Pakistan Peshawar Laiq Zada Laiq termed the book a progressive and modern poetry collection and a good effort by Amjad Ali Khadim.

The writer, a journalist by profession, has already authored books including Lamghare, Karkech, Ghargay ao Guloona and Da Ranra Safar. There are also pieces on great Pashto poet and intellectual late Amir Hamza Khan Shinwari, founding chairman of Word Pashto Congress, late Jehanzeb Niaz, president Anjuman Taraqipasand Mussannifeen Salim Raz, Baba-e-Pashto Sahafat Pir Sufaid Shah Hamdard, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Prof Pareshan Khattak.

Commenting on the book of Amjad Ali Khadim, noted literary figure Professor Nasir Ali Syed said that he always found Amjad Ali Khadim a dedicated and honest friend who always loved with his nation. His love is not limited only to the countrymen but he has also great concern about the Muslims suffering across the world.

He narrates that he was hosting a program in AVT Khyber regarding the importance of book when he came to know that Amjad Ali has published his first book. After that he invited Amjad Ali Khadim for a TV interview but he told that this book is not literary book.

He said that it is popular that that Khadim silencing every critic on weapons of smile and sweetness and hope everyone will knows and would have found this weapon of smile and politeness whose have interacted Khadim closely.

“I get impressed when Amjad Ali Khadim narrated a poem while paying tribute to noted writer Saadat Hasan Manto. This poem not only impressed me but the entire hall. In this poem Khadim has told about changing attitude of the humans and said that there are social evils in society and these evils has created social disaster.

To rescue the society from this degradation, he has invited great indo-Pak literary figure Saadat Hasan Manto to come and aware the humanity through his literary work” Nasir Ali Syed said.
