ISLAMABAD: The legal team of the government has presented its report to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on opposition’s terms of reference regarding investigation of Panama leaks, saying there was nothing new in the opposition’s ToRs.
Sources in the government told this correspondent that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would continue consultation on the ToRs on Saturday as well before making a final decision in this regard.
The legal team was of the view that opposition’s ToRs were of political nature and prime minister-specific while government’s ToRs covered all aspects of the inquiry.
The prime minister has directed the legal team to go through all the points of the ToRs and draft a point-wise reply to be sent to the opposition. Sources said that spaome ministers were opposing talks with the opposition on the issue of ToRs while others were in favour of talks. The final decision in this regard would be taken by the prime minister.
