QUETTA – Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq Saturday asked Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join opposition’s campaign against corruption.
“I want to tell Maulana Fazlur Rehman that accountability would be held on the Day of Judgment,” Siraj said while talking to media in Quetta, adding that he was willing to present himself and his party for accountability.
“What is a need of assemblies if they don’t make laws to root out corruption from the country,” he said. “Every political party should hold accountable the thieves within their own parties.”
He said that the proposed judicial commission’s terms of reference (ToRs) prepared by the opposition were being ignored by the government. He asked the government to take the corruption scandal in Balochistan to its logical conclusion.
