KARACHI: Sindh Rangers launched a new mobile application on Saturday, which has been designed to protect schools and colleges in Karachi. Addressing a press conference here, Col. Qaiser Ajmal Khattak of Sindh Rangers said that more than 3000 schools have already been registered under the new application named ‘Rangers School College Protection’.

“The application has been specially designed to protect educational institutions from any potential threat,” Khattak added, further briefing, “We have recorded data of over 3000 schools in the new application and gradually remaining schools and colleges will be added to the app.” He told media sources that”Karachi has been divided into 60 areas where Rangers will be deployed round the clock. Principals of the schools registered under this application will be able to generate a quick message in case of any threat,” also mentioning a plan to register media houses and police soon.

Speaking on this occasion, Maula Bux Chandio, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, praised Rangers’ application as a good step. He said that the Sindh government had also contributed to the development of the new application.

Chandio further postulated that shopping malls, hospitals, and offices would also be registered under the new application. “We are proud of our law enforcement agencies and always appreciate their positive steps for the security of citizens,” he said.

The adviser, however, refused to answer questions related to the recent arrest of Dr Asim Hussain and Uzair Baloch at the hands of Rangers.
