‘Govt committed to safety of educational institutes’

LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that APS incident has changed the mindset of entire nation and consolidated efforts are being made for the security of educational institutions.

He said that the role of teachers is of paramount importance for the protection of schools and education of children, adding that SOPs for effective security of educational institutions cannot be ignored.

He was addressing a function in connection with International Red Crescent Day arranged by Red Crescent Punjab at Guide House. General Red Crescent Secretary Rizwan Naseer along with teachers of different schools who took part in the 2-day school safety training programme were present on the occasion. Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that teachers are not only role models but also provide education and guidance to students.
