PR retrieves 3524 acres land out of illegally occupied property

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Railway (PR) could retrieve only 3524 acres land and property out of its land during the last four years and 4246.09 acres land is still under illegal occupation of the land mafia.

According to details 13.360 acres commercial railway land, 465.283 acres residential and 1256.747 acres agriculture land is under illegal occupation of private persons and Qabza groups and 444.328 acres land is under use of different government departments in Punjab,

In KP 11.44 acres agriculture land is under illegal occupation of private Qabza groups and 239.749 acres land is under use of different government departments.

Likewise 49.413 acres commercial land, 449.261 acres residential and 643.630 acres agriculture land is under illegal occupation of private Qabza groups while 49.685 acres land is under the control of different government departments and institutions in Sindh.

In Balochistan, 73.25 acre commercial, 441.61 acre residential and 46.19 acres agriculture land have been illegally occupied by private groups while 58.414 acres land is under the use of government departments.

1314 acres railway land was recovered from private Qabza groups in Punjab from January, 2012 to April 2016 while 1692 acres land was leased out to a government institution. 108 acres railway land was recovered from Qabza groups in KP, 381 acres in Sindh was recovered.
