Rs 1bn allocated for water supply project for Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has allocated Rs 1 billion for a water supply project for Rawalpindi Division.

According to details, the Punjab government has included the mega water project in 2017-18 budget. The project was first proposed during the tenure of former president Gen (r) Musharraf.

The Punjab government has now allocated over Rs 1 billion for the project. Under the mega project, water will supplied from Jhelum River to the residents. The mega project will be able to fulfil the water supply needs of residents.

However, the Punjab government did not include any funds for the Children Hospital and Nullah Lai Expressway projects in the 2017-18 budget.
