LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) organised a one-day training workshop for homeopathic doctors on Tuesday on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS). More than 42 homeopathic doctors participated in the workshop who were provided latest information in areas such as treatment and care of patients, provision of medicine, respecting the rights of patients, treatment awareness, infection control, continuous quality improvement, identifying the management responsibilities, departmental structure and its protection, human resource and information management. The training was conducted by homeopathic doctors Jameel Akhtar Ghauri and Mukhtar Ahmad Awan. The PHC has already organised 76 workshops, where more than 3,000 homeopathic practitioners have been trained. The purpose behind organising such workshops is to make the medical and homeopathic treatment more safe and effective. Presenting his views, Deputy Director Training Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Awan said that the Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) are meant to ensure safety, effectiveness and quality of healthcare services. These quality services are the rights of patients too. These standards are imposed in all types of medical centres including allopathic, homeopathy and Tibb. The PHC is making efforts to ensure the development, implementation and monitoring of MSDS in both public and private healthcare centres, hospitals and medical facilities, he said.
