LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to construct an underpass to facilitate the commuters near railway line Gurumangat Road, Gulberg area.

The approximate cost of the project is Rs 103.3 million starting from Gulberg and culminating at Cantt area. Around 40,000 motorists will be benefited from the underpass.

Consisting of two lanes on both sides, the width of the underpass will be 13.6 meter with 3.1 meter height, thus restricting buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles to pass through.

The Lahore Development Authority spokesperson said that the authority would bear its all construction cost.

He said that Rs seven million has been allocated for acquiring the land that came under this project, while Rs five million allocated for installation of water supply, electricity and gas.
