Nawaz bestowed more than one plot on bureaucracy in housing schemes

ISLAMABAD: The powerful bureaucrats of the federal capital have been allowed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to get more than one residential plots in the government housing schemes.

The prime minister of Pakistan has approved allotment of a residential plot to every bureaucrat when available in addition to the plots being given to them in federal government housing schemes, Minister for Housing and Work Akram Khan Durrani told the National Assembly. He submitted a list of the names of 212 bureaucrats of grade 22 who had been given plots in different government housing schemes by the former and the incumbent prime ministers.

The sizes of these plots were 500 and 600 square metres and they were allotted in G-13, D-12 and other sectors. The minister however did not tell the date of retirement of these bureaucrats.

According to the list available with Daily Times, mostly residential plots were allotted to retired bureaucrats.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave approval for allotment of a plot to his former secretary Javed Aslam, former chairman of the Pakistan Railways Arif Azeem, Pakistan ambassador to China Masood Khalid, former inspector general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Fayaz Ahmed, former principal secretary to prime minister Muhammad Ayub Qazi, former chief secretary Ijaz Chaudhry, former ambassadors Khursheed Anwar and Tariq Aziz-ud-Din, former inspector general of police Malik Muhammad Iqbal, former National Assembly secretary Karamat Niazi, former ambassadors Akhtar Mehmood, Shaheen Gillani and Shaukat Hayat Durrani, former housing secretary Muhammad Abbas, former additional attorney general Abdul Waheed Khan, former overseas secretary Saeed Ahmad Khan, former science and technology secretary Irfan Nadeem, grade 22 bureaucrats Raja Ikram-ul-Haq and Major (Retired) Iqbal Ahmad, former secretary Javed Malik, Shahid Hussain Raja, former Pakistan Post director general Abdul Hameed, former Pakistan Tobacco Company chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Khalid, former member of the Federal Board of Revenue Mehmood Alam, former SMEDA chief executive Anwaar Ahmad Khan and others.
