KARACHI: A woman on Friday gave birth to five babies, two boys and three girls, at Darul Sehat Hospital in Karachi.
Sources in Darul Sehat Hospital confirmed that a woman, Waheeda Jawaid, resident of Gwadar, Balochistan, has given birth to quintuplets in the hospital’s maternity ward. They said that the babies are physically fit and are kept in incubators. The doctors said that the condition of the babies is normal but next 24 hours are important for them as they are born pre-mature.
According to sources, the family of the woman could not afford hospitalisation and medical treatment charges. However, Darul Sehat Hospital administration is bearing all the expenses of mother and babies’ treatment.
Sources further said that Waheeda belongs to Gwadar, Balochistan with poor background. Balochistan’s Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mir Hamal Kalmati helped the family in getting admission to the hospital.
