ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district court has adjourned till May 17 the hearing of the matter of declaring former president Pervez Musharraf proclaimed offender in Ghazi Abdul Rashid case.

Additional Sessions Judge Pervez Al-Qadir Memon took up hearing of the case on Saturday. Both the guarantors of Pervez Musharraf including Nazir Ahmad and Jan Muhammad appeared in the court and tendered apology to the court for not presenting Pervez Musharraf.

Tariq Asad counsel for Ghazi Abdul Rashid requested the court that Pervez Musharraf be declared proclaimed offender.

Malik Tahir advocate counsel for Pervez Musharraf while raising his objection argued that “We have objection over issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf. Because Pervez Musharraf is ill and he has gone abroad for his treatment. Therefore, issuing arrest warrants of a person who has gone abroad in connection with his treatment is illegal. I want to give more arguments on this matter. Therefore, I may please be given more time. The court accepted his plea for granting time.
